The Sales Tax by Order report identifies taxable sales for any US State you may have a sales tax nexus.

A recent Supreme Court ruling granting States the authority to impose sales tax obligations on out-of-state businesses regardless of their physical location.  Many states now require out-of-state merchants to file and remit sales tax for simply having 200 transactions or $100,000 in sales.  Since these rules went into effect in 2019, many merchants have been asking us about sales tax reporting.

We’ve enhanced the Sales Tax reports within Communique to offer greater flexibility in determining your sales tax liabilities.

As of 2020 there are over 11,000 sales tax jurisdictions nationwide.  Texas has the most with 1,659 followed by Missouri with 1,491.

If you require Sales Tax Compliance reporting, you should consider services like TaxJar or Avalara.
