In this presentation we’ll explore a solution we designed, developed, and implemented for FashionableCanes.com.
FashionableCanes.com concluded they needed help retrieving payment tokens from the credit card processor Braintree. Each order placed online has a credit card authorization hold which is good of 72 hours.
Many of their there are orders require some level of customization which can take more than 72 hours to customize and ship. By the time these custom orders ship, the authorization for payment has expired.
After an authorization expires, a payment token from Braintree is required to capture payment for an order. Retrieving payment tokens from Braintree was a manual process for FashionableCanes.com staff and time intensive. Some orders were shipped without payment simply because they were overlooked.
The high cost of staff time and unpaid orders reached a point where they realized they needed a way to automate the payment token capture process and reduce labor and unpaid orders from shipping.
